What can I not do after a hip replacement?
We advise people who undergo a posterior hip replacement to avoid bending beyond 90 degrees, avoid crossing your legs, do not rotate your hip inwards. These precautions are used to avoid hip dislocations. Patients who undergo an anterior hip are usually not limited postoperatively. I do advise patients undergoing an anterior hip not to extend their hip significantly in certain extreme positions.
